Low Voltage Drivers

Where local and state regulations allow for Class 2 installations, the use of DC/DC drivers represent substantial savings in labor and material costs and allow for installations that would otherwise be nearly impossible.

Class 2 installations are electric systems that run at or lower than 60 Volts. UL regulations allow for Class 2 wiring not to be installed in a conduit, and for a Class 2 splice not to be housed in a junction box. This allows one to install multiple luminaries simply electrically connected together as in the examples below.

For fire and safety purposes, the National Electrical Code (NEC) has developed specifications for using low voltage DC circuits (<60Vdc) for powering indoor devices. Class 2 circuits are limited to 100 Watts of power per circuit. Check out the low voltage driver here.
